My name is Jocelyn. I am 21 years old French native speaker born in Nantes (France). I am currently studying in a business school (EM Lyon) and just started an internship in a start up in Siem Reap, Cambodia. I love travelling, meeting new people and experiencing new culture. I am also a big sport fan.
For the past two years I have been a tutor for French high school students in French, English and Spanish. They all had different levels from the one who once said to me “The time is beautiful” while speaking about the weather (Time and weather are spelled the same in French hence the confusion) to the ones who were practically fluent. Adapting to every students needs and level is what drives me. Seeing them progressing, meeting their goals, pass the exams for the school they were dreaming for is just wonderful. Plus, during the classes I get to know a person. I teach her somethings but I’m also learning from her. It is definitely what I love about this job.
I believe that learning a new language is about fun and interaction rather than studying out of a grammar book. During our first meeting, I always ask my students what their passion are, what the subjects they will love to study are. Then, I can adapt the content of the class to fit what you love. In fact it is much more easier to learn a language through things that we love rather than through one that we are not interested for.
I hope this text gives you a better understanding of who I am and how I am working. Thank you for having read all this message and I hope to see you soon for our first class!
