I was born in the US and grew up there. I lived in Los Angeles for 12 years and still consider it home. As a result, I have a neutral American accent and very well-versed in Californian slang! I now live in Vietnam after living in Italy, Canada and the U.S.
I am passionate about teaching and learning languages- currently learning Italian, Vietnamese, Korean and Japanese. Because of my background in language learning and my degree from UCLA, I know the difficulties with language learning and the culture differences that come with it!
MY LESSONS AND TEACHING STYLE:
My goal is to help you feel confident and fully prepared to speak with anyone you meet. All of my lessons are tailored for you, your level, your needs and your goals.
I specialize in conversation-based learning, which is the best way to improve your language skills. I can help you with the slight nuances of vocabulary to help you use the appropriate phrase with the right context (for example: a personal email vs a business email!), how to use American slang, and improving your pronunciation.
My students are always delighted with the amount of feedback I provide during the lessons that allows them to review before and after class. We will monitor your progress together, and keep track of everything you've learned.
I have experience working full-time at corporate businesses like Apple and Disney, as well as in academia (UCLA.) I've tutored and held language exchanges at my university (The University of California - Los Angeles aka UCLA) with Korean, Japanese and Italian exchange students.
With an online teaching specialty, I constantly strive to improve my skills as a teacher. I welcome your feedback as it helps make my lessons more effective.
I am patient, friendly, and have a standard American accent and a sense of humor! Let's chat and laugh together. Talk to you soon!
