I'm a certified CRKBO(Central Register Short Professional Education) teacher. I'm a native speaker, and have been teaching Dutch for 7 years, the last 2 years in Holland. I work with students from all over the world and I always try to focus on the pronunciation, because I think it's the most difficult part of the Dutch language. I try to get my students as close to the native accent as possible, while giving them extensive explanation about the grammar, while at the same time, practicing their reading and writing skills so that they will feel confident using the language. LANGUAGES - Dutch - Russian - English EXPERTISE - Integration-exams - Orthography - Grammar - Development of writing and speaking skills. Hi My name is Pascale! My native language is Dutch, and my second language is English. I speak many more, because I am fascinated by languages. I believe I can help you in a great and fun way to learn a language. Learning a new language can open so many doors to people and it can be life changing. It is just fascinating! So if you take a chance on me, I will make sure to help you in the best way I can! In 2014 I started teaching English and Dutch online to adults and children. I teach students from entry to advanced levels. I can help you with: - fluency - pronunciation - grammar - listening skills - conversational skills - vocabulary preparation for: - job application - NT2 We can read something, do role plays, describe pictures, listen to music or short video's, have a free conversation; it is all possible. It is important to me to make my students feel comfortable and to have fun during the class, as I believe it's the best motivation to improve and to get the most out of it. My goal is to get you talking as soon as possible! Conversation is the most important to focus on and most motivating in my opinion. Every person is unique to me. I am convinced that we can find a method catered to your needs. We can learn material that fits your level, or have a free conversation about a topic of your interest. I am very flexible and patient, and like to use recognizable illustrations and examples during the class to support an understandable explanation of things. After we've determined your level we will decide together how we will conduct the class. I am open for your suggestions as well, so please feel free! "If you don't use it, you'll lose it", so let's use the language together. I am looking forward to meet you very soon! Pascale - I ask all students to have their cameras on. - Classes can be rescheduled or cancelled up to 12 hours prior to starting time. After this time the classes will not be rescheduled/ cancelled, and will be charged accordingly - If I do not receive a message that the student will be late, I will wait 15 minutes for the student (10 minutes for trial classes). After this the class will be considered complete, and charged accordingly. *****
I try to make my online lessons as cosy as possible. I use the video-conference system, so I can see my students and they can see me; we can talk, we make the exercises together, I explain all the grammar, and if my students have any doubt or questions, I explain it orally which I think makes it easier to be understood. It is as if we were sitting in an office side by side. The only thing we cannot do is drinking a coffee while we study. Besides the lessons, I always send some homework. I will send a book that we follow, and the rest of the material is sent by me by e-mail as well. As soon as it is possible, I advise my students to start reading books in the language they learn, and from the very beginning to start listening to the TV. It is a way of being surrounded by the language. I always insist a lot on the accent, and this helps. I have students with a perfect accent. Listening to the language also helps to open the hears to the sounds, making easier to understand. From the very beginning I also start with small conversations in each lesson. You may believe that all my students are being very successful with this kind of lessons. I have now students from all over the world. Concerning the level my students attain, ofcourse it depends on them. Together we see what your needs are and how fast you want to learn. As for the number of lessons per week, I advise that you should have at least two. Less than two is very little and you have a long break between lessons. It is bad because you don't have any contact with the language and feel that you are advancing very slowly. I am a qualificated teacher in Dutch language and have been teaching for more than 20 years at school and online, groups as well as lessons.
Hello, I'm Lisa Devoogdt and I live in Belgium. I'm very excited to help you learn Dutch! Dutch is a very nice language I do love to speak and I'm sure I'm going to help you learn and speak it fluently. I graduated as a psychologist but I studied a year longer for my Teacher Qualification for Secondary Education so I have experience with teaching. I have a lot of experience with learning a language, as I speak English, French and last year I learned Spanish so I know how it is to be in your position. I think it is very important to be in constant contact with the language, this can be through listening to music, watching a movie, speaking to natives and there will be my focus on. Furthermore I think it is also important to have a good grammatical base where you can build on and I would be very happy to show and tell you how the Dutch language is formed. Last but not least I think the fun part of learning a language is to be in touch with another culture, with other habits, other food culture and I also want to learn you this. It is not only about the language, but about everything that surrounds the language.
